Assisted Living
During the later years of life, it oftentimes becomes difficult to manage day-to-day tasks such as household chores and personal cares. Fortunately, Assisted Living offers assistance with activities of daily living without sacrificing independence. Assisted Living is an intermediate step between complete independent living and the full time care of a nursing home.
The Assisted Living Federation of American (ALFA) defines Assisted Living as, "a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care designed to meet the needs -- both scheduled and unscheduled -- of those seniors who need help with activities of daily living (ADL), such as bathing, dressing, eating, and monitoring medications."
